Financial Services, Built From Parts You Understand

Every financial plan is assembled from a small set of parts. Those parts are account types, investment vehicles, insurance policies and estate documents. Our services cover wealth management, financial advising, financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, legacy planning, tax management and life insurance consulting. Each one starts with what the parts are, what they cost you and where they fit your goals.

  • Wealth Management

We coordinate your brokerage, retirement, insurance and cash accounts so each one does the job it is best suited for.

  • Financial Advising

Focused advice on a specific money decision, with the trade-offs of each account, investment or policy laid out before you choose.

  • Financial Planning

A written financial plan that lays out your goals, cash flow and the account types worth using, with the trade-offs of each explained.

  • Investment Management

We build and monitor portfolios from index funds, ETFs, bonds and stocks, and explain what each holding costs and why it is there.

  • Retirement Planning

We map out which accounts to draw from, when to claim Social Security and how to handle pensions, so your savings become steady retirement income.

  • Legacy Planning

We audit beneficiary forms, account titling and trusts, then compare the tools that move your wealth to family with the least friction.

  • Tax Management

We decide which accounts hold which investments and when to draw from each, so less of your return goes to federal and New Jersey tax.

  • Life Insurance Consulting

A clear comparison of term, whole, universal and variable life, plus a review of the coverage you already carry, so you know what each policy really does.

Why Clients Work With Us

Most bad financial decisions come from choosing a product before understanding it. We slow that step down on purpose.

Investment and insurance credentials

We are Series 7 and Series 66 licensed, and we hold a license to sell life insurance. That lets us discuss brokerage accounts, investment advice and life policies in one conversation instead of sending you to three different offices.

Trade-offs named, not hidden

A Roth IRA trades a tax deduction today for tax-free withdrawals later. A term policy is inexpensive coverage that ends. We put the cost and the catch of each option next to its benefit, so you can see both before you sign anything.

Fees in writing

Expense ratios, advisory fees, sales charges and insurance commissions are all costs you carry. We list the ones that apply to your accounts in a written summary, line by line.

One plan, not a pile of products

A 401(k), a brokerage account and a life policy should work together. We look at how they interact on taxes, beneficiaries and timing before adding anything new.

Reviews on a schedule

Life changes, tax rules change and portfolios drift from their targets. We set regular check-ins so your plan gets adjusted deliberately rather than ignored until something breaks.

What Shapes the Cost of Financial Advice

Advice is not priced by the hour of a single meeting. It depends on how much work your situation needs and on which products, if any, become part of the plan. We tell you how we are paid before you commit to anything.

After the introductory meeting, we lay out in plain terms how we would be paid for the work you need. You decide to go ahead or not before anything is opened or purchased.

Complexity of your situation
A single earner with one 401(k) needs less analysis than a business owner with a SEP IRA, a rental property and stock options. More moving parts mean more modeling and more coordination.
Ongoing management or a one-time plan
Some clients take a written plan and act on it on their own. Others prefer that we oversee the portfolio, rebalancing it as markets move and goals shift. Continuing oversight is ongoing work, so it is paid for under a different arrangement.
Investment vehicles chosen
Index ETFs, actively managed mutual funds and annuities each carry their own internal costs. Those expenses come out of returns, so we show them alongside the advice fee.
Insurance products
When a life insurance policy is part of the plan, the carrier pays a commission on it. We tell you that up front, and we compare how premiums differ between term, whole and universal life.
Tax and estate coordination
Work that has to line up with your CPA or estate attorney, such as Roth conversions or beneficiary planning, takes more time than a portfolio review alone.

How Working With Us Runs

The steps stay the same for a 30-year-old opening a first IRA and for a retiree already drawing on savings.

  1. 1

    Introductory meeting

You reach us by phone and we set a time to meet at our office or by video. We ask about your goals, your concerns and what you already own. You ask how we work and how we are paid.

  2. 2

    Gather the details

We review your statements, including retirement accounts, brokerage holdings, insurance policies and recent tax returns. This shows what you are paying now, how your assets are allocated and where beneficiaries are missing or outdated.

  3. 3

    Walk through the options

We lay out the choices that fit, such as traditional or Roth contributions, fund choices, or term or permanent coverage. Each one comes with its cost, its tax treatment and its trade-offs. You choose, and we write down why.

  4. 4

    Put it in place

We handle account openings, rollovers, transfers and insurance applications. We confirm each step is complete so nothing sits half-finished.

  5. 5

    Review and adjust

We meet on a set schedule and after major life events to rebalance, update beneficiaries and revisit your goals.

Questions Clients Ask First

Something not covered here? (732) 655-2354

What happens in the introductory meeting?

We talk about your goals, what you own now and what is worrying you. We describe how we work and how we would be paid. There is no obligation to open an account or buy a policy, and by the end you should know if our approach suits what you need.

How do you get paid?

It depends on the work. Ongoing investment management is typically paid through an advisory fee, and life insurance policies pay a commission from the carrier. We spell out which applies to your situation before you commit, and we show the internal costs of any funds we recommend.

Do I need a minimum amount to work with you?

Reach us by phone and describe your situation. Some people come to us with a 401(k) rollover, others with a business sale or an inheritance. We will tell you honestly if our services fit what you need.

Should I contribute to a Roth or a traditional account?

A traditional account lowers your taxable income now, and withdrawals are taxed later. A Roth account works the other way. The better choice depends on your current tax bracket, your expected bracket in retirement and how much tax-free money you already have. We model both so you can compare.

Term or permanent life insurance: which do I need?

Term coverage costs less and covers a set period, such as the years until a mortgage is paid off or children are grown. Permanent policies cost more but last for life and build cash value. Some estate and business situations call for permanent coverage. Many families only need term, and we will tell you which applies to you.

Do you work with business owners?

Yes. We help business owners compare retirement plan options such as SEP IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs and solo 401(k)s. We also look at key person insurance and how business assets fit into a broader legacy plan.

Can we meet by video instead of at the office?

Yes. Many clients meet with us entirely by phone and video. Statements can be reviewed on a shared screen, and the process works the same way it does in person.

About Our Practice

Financial Advisor Shrewsbury serves people at very different stages: a couple starting to save, a family weighing college costs, an owner preparing to sell a business, a retiree drawing down savings. The work comes down to growing wealth, protecting it and passing it on. Because we handle both the investment side and the insurance side, we can speak to each of those areas directly.

We think a client should be able to describe their own portfolio in a sentence or two. That means knowing why a bond fund is there, what an annuity rider actually pays for and how a required minimum distribution is calculated. Our meetings spend as much time on that understanding as on the recommendations themselves.
